Comparison of IDEAL, MultiPeak IDEAL and Fat-Saturated FSE for Imaging of Osteoarthritis (OA) Knee Patients: Initial Clinical Experience

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Iterative Decomposition of Water and Fat with Echo Asymmetry and Least-Squares Estimation (IDEAL) is a promising MRI technique for robust fat and water separation (1). It was found with higher fluid/cartilage contrast-to-noise ratio efficiency and fat-suppression quality than FSE imaging in ankle. The goal of this study is to assess image quality, fat suppression and fat-water separation of single-peak IDEAL (1) and multiple-peak IDEAL (3) imaging to fat saturated fast spin-echo (FSE) imaging in knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients.

PURPOSE To evaluate and quantify improvements in the quality of fat suppression for fast spin-echo imaging of the knee using multipeak fat spectral modeling and IDEAL fat-water separation. MATERIALS AND METHODS T(1)-weighted and T(2)-weighted fast spin-echo sequences with IDEAL fat-water separation and two frequency-selective fat-saturation methods (fat-selective saturation and fat-selective ...
متن کاملThe effect of exercise therapy on knee osteoarthritis: a randomized clinical trial
Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common musculoskeletal disease among old individuals which affects ability for sitting on the chair, standing, walking and climbing stairs. Our objective was to investigate the short and long-term effects of the most simple and the least expensive exercise protocols in combination to conventional conservative therapy for knee OA. Methods : It...
متن کاملPatient Satisfaction Following Total Knee Arthroplasty: Comparison of Short-Term Results in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis
Background: Due to the obvious differences in the natural course of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA),different functional outcomes might be expected after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) in these distinct patients. Althoughseveral studies have reported the objective outcome of TKA in RA and OA patients, few studies have compared postoperativepatient-satisfaction levels. Methods: I...
متن کاملشیوع سندروم متابولیک و اجزای آن در بیماران مبتلا به استئو آرتریت
Background and Objective: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common bone-cartilage disease. It is well known that osteoarthritis is associated with obesity and various cardiovascular risk factors. Metabolic syndrome is a collection of cardiovascular risk factors. In this study, we assessed cardiovascular risk factors in patients with OA and their relationship with OA severity. Materials and Method...
متن کاملI-42: MRI Evaluation of Congenital Uterine Anomalies
Mullerian duct anomalies are an uncommon but often treatable cause of infertility. Patients with müllerian duct anomalies are known to have a higher incidence of infertility, repeated first-trimester spontaneous abortions, fetal intrauterine growth retardation, fetal malposition, preterm labor, and retained placenta. The role of imaging is to help detect, diagnose, and distinguish surgically co...
